Well, many wouldn’t address this place as glutton square… we call is “jee kay” (2nd Street).. it’s a place I grew up with…and they have lots of food choices offered there.. that is why is was also known as “hau jiak kay” But now, it does not seem to be as packed as it used to be… losing it’s popularity I guess… last time, when I was little, it was like a big open air food market, on tar road and it’s always packed with people and it’s not easy to get a table, you need to wait for others to finish.. and during my secondary schooling times, my friends and I used to hang out here for tea time snacks…
My previous post here… Some of the food has been posted before but don’t care, I’m posting it up again! :P
This is Kickapoo Tauhu/Taukua. My first time having it.. so happen that the uncle had ready plated and he’s walking around with it, we decided to take one.. can’t remember how much it was.. it’s actually deep fried tauhu topped with mayo-like sauce but Kickapoo flavoured…
Nothing beats a glass of cold pure sugar cane drink on a hot afternoon!
Our all time favourite Jawa Mee…
Deep fried buns, with different types of filling… bbq pork (bak kua), pork floass (bak hu) and chicken curry… another yum!
Song Song fried chicken… the aroma actually covers nearly the whole place… crispy on the outside, juicy in the inside.. and very flavourful too..
Asam laksa.. which is different with penang laksa… it has the laksa kedah influence.. instead of fish meat, it’s more of like fish shreds… nevertheless, it’s still nice!
Ica kacang… perfect for hot humid sunny day! What’s missing is a dallop of ice cream!
All these and more, available at “jee kay”. it’s accessible through Jalan Bank where Mcdota and and Wisma Keladi(where JPN is located) are at…
