Macau completes my travelogue posts for year 2008. It was my last holiday destination of the year and I have intention to go back again.. reason being, I have not really manage to explore the whole Macau.. I didn't even manage to go to the Venetian for a tour... I left Hong Kong at noon to Macau by ferry and by it rained for the first time during my 9 days tour.. so the journey is pretty torturous cos my luggage was really heavy and my hand carry luggage is also not helping :P What pissed me off was also the ferry terminal, in order to go down to the arrival floor, the only way is the stairs and the escalator which was not working... there was not elevator!!! I was so near to just let my luggage roll down the escalator and pick it up when i reach the lower floor.. stupid.. really... grrr.... struggled like hell having to carry my heavy lugagge and walk down the stupid staircase!!
Took the cab to the hotel... intended to stayed in other hotel but unfortunately, it was peak and mostly are fully booked or the rates have gone sky high... even for this room we stayed in, I have to pay like MOP800 plus near to MOP900. It's near to the china border, Zhuhai which I did not manage to go, I think they need visa to enter too... and also because it started to rain cats and dogs when we arrive at the hotel, and i need some time to recover from the exhaustion... the room is small and dimly lit... i actually don't really fancy dimly lit hotel rooms... i prefer white lights... bright and clear... it's rather small, but condition was okay.. maybe a lil bit worn out...
The hotel room..
Freshen ourselves and took a walk from the hotel, trying to find the location we wanted to go. Ruins of St Paul's was the main attraction we planned to go... wanted to take the bus but the signs are in Chinese and Portuguese language! The road signs too and they don't speak much of english, only cantonese and mandarin... So out of desperation, hailed a cab and with no words said, i just showed him the photo of the ruins and off we go which was 10 minutes away... we were the last customer he took there... it started to get dark pretty early.. it was only 5 something pm.. i guess due to the weather... but good thing it stopped raining...
Photos with the ruins of St Paul's
Took a stroll down n again with non stop photos... went into one of the bakeries to get their local biscuits and delicacies... portuguese egg tarts!!
Another few minutes walk down then I reached to another bakery with lotsa people... apparently, this is one of the famous bakery in Macau, Koi Kei Bakery, selling lots of biscuits and their portuguese egg tarts tasted better than the first shop i went... I did not manage to taste the more famous Lord Stow's portuguese egg tarts though... sigh.. that's why i want to go back again... I watched the new Andy Lau's and Shu Qi's movie weeks back and most of the scenes were shot in Macau... i realised that i have missed out a lot of places and things in Macau..

Missed out Pork Chop Bun in Hong Kong and get to taste the one in Macau, which has bigger piece pork chop compared to the Hong Kong's Lan Fong Yuen's. It it has no vege, no sauce, the pork chop was deep fried and the bread is not the soft kinda break.. so it's pretty dry, and therefore, ordered along the bubble milk tea :D
Took a walk down the little streets filled with shops and colourful and brightly buildings and street...
Full of lanterns... pretty isn't it?
Old buildings also brightly lit...
Photos photos photos again..... as usual..
Continue to walk until the main road and follow the building... we head to the centre of the Sin City of the East.. where all the major casinos are at.... jeng jeng jeng.... look at the statues outside of Grand Lisboa... must be the guardians...
The Grand Lisboa.. what's the difference... I do not know.. I did not go in...
Oh yes.. finally completed my travelogues posts... so happie....
