Hong Kong Revisited DAY 4 (2010-0119) Finale (Part 3)

*continuation from part 2…

Took a slow walk to The Peak’s station… walked passed St John’s Cathedral. This beautiful Cathedral is built in the shape of a cross.

 

Reached The Peak’s station, mostly all exhausted already… noticed my ankle guard still there cos I sprained my ankle on the third day :( But it did not stop me from walking around Hong Kong! Best time to go up is prolly around 5pm plus (earlier if you have plans for Madame Tussaud’s cos it may take up to 2 hours if you take photos with each and every wax figures), but must arrive earlier cos you have to queue for the tram! By the time you arrive, walk around, you’re in time to watch the sun sets and the sky changed it’s colours.

Once you’re arrive at the lower station again, hop into the open top busses to enjoy the view of the city…

Went back to Wellington Road and had dinner at Tsui Wah Restaurant, also a chain restaurant in Hong Kong. It’s just right opposite Yung Kee. The menu is pretty extensive, and it has few floors, big restaurant with many customers too. It’s like the cha chaan teng type of restaurant…

 

Tomato beef rice, pork chop baked rice, and did not manage to take photos some of the food cos everyone was starving and start digging in the moment the meal was served. And my hong tau ping (red bean ice)…

After dinner, we took a stroll to Lan Kwai Fong (more info here) did some light shopping, and head back to Prince Edward where our hotel is situated. I headed back to PEN the next day while my sis spent another 2 days since they arrived 2 days later than me.

I want to go Hong Kong again!!!

This is where the Central makan and jalan-jalan experience starts!

Off directly to Central, Yung Kee at Wellington Street for brunch… Yung Kee is famous for the roasted goose..

Look at that! Suckling pig lagi… It’s HKD170 for suckling pig.. but dunno how big is the portion la..

We ordered fried rice and 1/2 bird of roasted goose. Roasted goose is priced at HKD420 whole bird, HKD210 for half bird and HKD130 for regular, which is equivalent to 1/4 bird. Roasted goose leg (siew ngor bei) is at HKD160 each. Yes, expensive but for the sake of trying lo.. haha… I’m not very much of a goose or duck meat lover.

Came out from Yung Kee and saw this auntie selling put zhai kou… makan lagi lo…

Walk around Central, and see H & M, on SALE, apa lagi, all stormed in la…

Up the Central-Mid-levels escalators to Lan Fong Yuen (a famous tea restaurant for their pork chop bun and pantyhose milk tea) for tea time makan. Walked Past Ser Wong Fun, also a famous eatery but we did not stop since we just had brunch that time… The one with green roof is Lan Fong Yuen, located at Gage Street (结志街).

The famous pork chop bun with succulent pork chop in between toasted bun.. I did not manage to go the first round, so this round manage to eat it, so happy :D hahaha… Another famous item which I did not try is the tomato noodles.. something like that…

And also the famous pantyhose milk tea (xi mut nai cha)

     

Tak habis habis cam whoring…

Lyndhurst Terrace (擺花街) is just the next street above Gage Street, that’s where Tai Cheong Bakery is at. Famous for it’s egg tarts, of course we all must eat it la.. :P

Hebat kan? So golden yellow, and it’s full of the eggs custard… Sedap, you know.. :P

to be continued… (yes, I initially said 2 parts, and now I had to make it to 3 parts cos it managed to post my first part and second part still failed, perhaps still a lot of photos… it’s either the connection or the application that is testing my patience :P)

Yes, super outdated post but I am missing Hong Kong still! Haha.. I’ve just noticed that I did not finish blogging about Hong Kong until I was talking to MK today, wanted to show her some good food pics and couldn’t find them in my blog… hmm.. then only… ohh… i blogged until day 3 only laa! MK is going to Hong Kong in 2 weeks… am sooo jealous!! hahaha… I wanna go too :(

Anyways, finale of my Hong Kong trip early this year will be full of photos! finale mah…  :P I’m not gonna story much.. will do more links for more information instead :D

 

Started our day with MTR ride to Tsim Sha Tsui and headed to Avenue of Stars, via MTR station underground walkway.

School kids out for a field trip, surveying tourists and it must be done speaking mandarin (pu tong hua) He sure did struggled reading all questions.. luckily we have few who reads Chinese and speaks both Mandarin and Cantonese to guide him.. :D

Jacky is 6!

I got Jacky aka Kie Kie /Codie back in 2005, and he was 5 months old then. He’s the doggy I want the moment I laid my eyes on him. I never got to know his birth date.. but if backdated, he should be born in the month of August…  same as myself. So every year, my birthday is celebrated with him.. haha.. I gave him a birthday, and make it same day as mine. He’s my precious little boy….
