LiteYo Yoghurt by Nutrigen

I don take yoghurt regularly, and not that I’m a big fan of it too.. I prefer yoghurt drink to a normal tub of yoghurt… but if I’m asked to choose a tub from many different brands on the shelves, I prefer this one… it’s actually more watery than regular yoghurt and smooth.. it has different sets of flavour which are not common like green tea with aloe vera chunks, cappuccino with nata de coco chunks, mandarin with carrots strips bits etc. My favourite is strawberry flavour. Not like other, you may find little small chunks of strawberry bits… this one you find both chunks and also one whole strawberry…

I’m not sure if they have improvised it, but the last 2 tubs I had, they both have 3 whole strawberries inside. Got me all excited… haha…  just like striking a lottery cos the few tubs i had previously only has one whole strawberry inside.

My cousin sis, Fen, who lives downstairs gave us some fresh cherries too… yum! So much more better than the pickled cherries that tastes like cough syrup!

Some of the biscuits that reminds me of childhood…

Now I usually get biscuits from supermarket, cos it’s easier and cheaper (i think)… but then again, thinking back… last time was the complete opposite… biscuits in the supermarket is more expensive.. that’s why we get it from the sundry shop the ciplak(imitation) version for some biscuits for a cheaper price..

I went to the nearby sundry shop the other day and saw so many types of biscuits mom used to buy when I was a kid… cream crackers and marie biscuits aside.. it’s still famously eaten by all generations until today…

One of it is this one… animal prints biscuits… taste a little like marie biscuits, harder texture and of course cuter… my favourite is the tortoise and the owl… pretty educational too…  so nostalgic :)

Then the wafer biscuit… the one I has when i was a kid is with darker chocolate cream.. it’s more of like chocolate instead of cream.. but this is good enough.. the wafer texture is not that “plastic” compares to come that is sold in the supermarket… this is all crunchy and messy… but still, i love it!

Compared with the dried bread counterpart, I prefer this better.. more of like a dried cake biscuit…  mom used to buy also the dried bread version, most of them eat it with black coffee.. but not my favourite… it tastes like the bland dried bread skin in a bigger portion… this one tastes better… colour wise is also more attractive, golden yellow. Very absorbent too… nice to be eaten alone, hard and crunchy, or you can dip it in a cup of milo, the you’ll have a piece of moist cake… hahahaha…

This is what I meant with imitation biscuits… I remembered 3 little teddies first came out, already very commercialised… it appeared on TV ads with a theme song and is only sold in supermarkets… it first sold in like normal vanilla/butter flavour, the white bear then only the chocolate bear came out… mom bought the original one before… it’s packed in few individual packets.. then in a box.. and each bear have their initials on their tummy..  3 of them, bear facing left, centre and right.  After a few times, she just buys it from the sundry shop :)

With the intention to buy one type of biscuit, I came out from the sundry shop with 4 types… luckily I was not in the shop that sells only biscuits like Hock Chuan Biscuit Centre else I might not come out that fast as they have more biscuits and most of them very much eaten when i was a kid…. and supermarkets don’t have all of them! I’m going to the biscuit centre one day… shopping for more nostalgic biscuits… missing my childhood times a lot now… T_T

Fried Fish Porridge @ Northam Beach Cafe

Went to Northam Beach Cafe with Mun after gym last Thursday, and she ordered this porridge… and forced me to have some… haha… open air area was dark, as usual so I did not know it has good presentation until I snapped a photo of it… good thing the taste did not fail us… we both agree it tasted not bad… the fried fish pieces were fresh too… no fishy smell… and it’s not that dory/sutchi fish that I don’t adore.

Porridge with fried fish meat pieces, fried anchovies, yau char kuay (you tiao) pieces, with lettuce, chopped spring onion, dash of pepper powder and soy sauce.

Taste not bad, presentation also good…

Taiwanese Red Bean with Yolk Mooncake / Flake Pastry

Bryan gave us one each a mooncake/pastry from Taiwan.. He mentioned something like his cousin bought them… and so nice of him to offer us one each :D

 

Looks tempting than ordinary mooncake.. it’s more of like a regular pastry with sesame seeds decorated the skin..

It’s one small cute pastry with red bean filling and a whole yolk inside… not too sweet and the size is just nice…

It’s yummy, even bunny wants it…

My Very Own Fruit Party

Was home last weekend for dad’s birthday… he finally is retired… his staff sent him home on his last day and he treated them for a tropical fruit party at our place… :D mom said there were like 40 of them! and good thing there are some left for us.. yay! i have not eaten durian for… i can’t remember when was the last time… well.. durian pancake in HKG does not count ok! Although that was really a stinky gas leakage yummy one...

I got home, opened up the fridge and took everything I can find, to the living room and have my very own fruit party, watching tv and enjoying the air cond. Life's a bliss~
